Mediating a case before a lawsuit is filed enables two willing and obedient parties to present their case to our TACB Mediation Team before any money is spent on litigation. Many times the simple process of telling one’s story to an impartial mediator will take the parties a long way toward settlement. The cost of mediating a case is minimal compared to the costs incurred during a lawsuit.

Ninety-five percent of all cases filed in the court system end up settling before trial. Some settle early and others settle on or before the eve of a trial beginning. The difference between the former and the latter is the amount of money and time a party will spend in getting from one point to the other. Depending on the type of case, the cost could range from thousands of dollars to several thousands of dollars. Often, the costs are not recovered at the time of settlement and both parties bear their own burden of costs in the litigation process.
